Robyn Vaccara is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the NYU School of Professional Studies(SPS) English Language Institute (ELI) where she teaches ESOL courses in the Intensive English Program and is the program coordinator for the Collaborative for New Immigrant Education. Robyn joined the ELI faculty in 2006 and has served as director, overseeing the department’s English language programming. She came to NYU from The New School where she taught ESOL and was also a teacher educator. She has held positions in the field of language education in Italy and was a regional director and teacher trainer with the nonprofit EF Educational Foundation. Her recent work centers on ESOL programming, advocacy for international students, teacher education, and language support for refugees in NYC. She is the co-author of Longman English Interactive 3: Communication Companion, Longman English Interactive 4: Communication Companion and author of the teacher’s guide for The Heart of the Matter. She has a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst; the RSA/Cambridge University Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA); and an M.A. in TESOL from New York University. She is the recipient of NYU SPS awards for Outstanding Service and Teaching Excellence.
