Bill Bassin has been teaching the Introduction to Hedge Funds Class for over 14 years at NYU. Bill's career spans across both investing in and raising money for hedge funds. He has worked in investment research as a Managing Director at UBP Asset Management, as the Director of Investments for the Museum of Modern Art's Endowment, where he invested in hedge funds, private equity, real estate, and venture capital funds, and as the head of the Capital Introduction Group at Lehman Brothers. Bill is currently a Managing Director at Cowen, where he works closely with Cowen's hedge fund clients.
Bill has been asked to speak at over 30 conferences around the world about best hedge fund investment and marketing practices to a variety of institutional investors (including Pensions, Endowments and Foundations, and Consultants), as well as hedge funds. Bill has also written and published numerous white papers on the hedge fund industry.
Bill holds an Economics degree from Dartmouth College, an MBA from Columbia University Business School, and a J.D. from Emory University School of Law, all with honors. He is also a member of the New York State Bar Association.
