Mark J. Parrell is the president, CEO, and member of the Board of Trustees of Equity Residential, a position he has held since January 2019. Parrell was the company’s executive vice president and chief financial officer from October 2007 to September 2018, and senior vice president and treasurer of the company from August 2005 to October 2007. He serves as a member of the Advisory Boards of Directors of the T. Rowe Price mutual funds, a position he has held since January 2023.
Parrell is also active in several business and community service organizations. He currently serves as a board member of the Real Estate Roundtable and on the Executive Board of Governors of NAREIT. He is a member of the Advisory Board for the Ross Business School at the University of Michigan, his alma mater, and is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council and served as chair of its Finance Committee in 2015-2016. He is also a member of the Board of Directors and the Chair of the Finance Committee of the Greater Chicago Food Depository and is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago. Parrell holds a BBA from the University of Michigan and a JD from the Georgetown University Law Center.
