Debra A. Cafaro is the chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Ventas, Inc., an S&P 500 company and real estate investment trust. Ventas owns a diversified portfolio of over 1,200 senior living, life science, research and innovation, and healthcare properties in the United States, Canada, and the UK. Under Cafaro’s leadership, Ventas’s market capitalization grew from $200 million in 1999 to $28 billion in 2019. She also serves on the Board of The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc.
She has twice been named one of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women by Forbes Magazine, and was recognized as one of the Top 100 Best-Performing CEOs in the World for six consecutive years by Harvard Business Review. Cafaro received her JD from the University of Chicago Law School and her BA from the University of Notre Dame. She is married and has two children.
