Last year, the NYU SPS Division of Programs in Business (DPB) signed an agreement with French Business School SKEMA to create and launch customized courses based in New York City that complement SKEMA’s MSc in Global Luxury and Management program.
This fall semester, the glamorous opportunity to study abroad in New York City became a reality for SKEMA graduate program students. Recently, 50 students participated in a course led by David Klingbeil, an adjunct instructor at NYU SPS DPB, on the intersection of luxury brands and emerging technologies, such as web3 and the metaverse. In addition, the students had the opportunity to participate in a capstone project that culminated in earning an NYU Certificate in Luxury Digital Marketing and Strategy.
Recently, the SKEMA students concluded their trip to New York City with a celebratory reception at NYU’s Kimmel Center, where they received their hard-earned NYU certificates from NYU SPS Dean Angie Kamath and Martin Ihrig, associate dean of NYU SPS DPB.
“Our collaboration with SKEMA Business School amplifies our international reach and leverages our ability to help students prepare for the evolving needs of a broad range of industries, in this case, the global luxury and marketing sector,” said Ihrig. “We are thrilled to work with SKEMA to complement their program and help deliver a relevant applied learning experience to its students.”
“For SKEMA students, this is a great collaboration with the NYU School of Professional Studies and an opportunity for the students to experience a quality international immersion program,” said Emmanuelle Rigaud, director of the SKEMA Global Luxury and Management Masters Program. “SKEMA students now understand luxury digital marketing strategies from the American perspective and, more precisely, are prepared to face the digital challenges they will encounter in the future of work in luxury.”
