Division of Programs in Business Hosts Fall 2021 Kickoff for Faculty and Staff

The NYU SPS Division of Programs in Business (DPB) hosted its virtual Fall 2021 Kickoff for faculty and staff on August 25th, 2021. The evening began with a welcome and opening remarks from SPS Dean Angie Kamath and DPB Dean, Dr. Martin Ihrig. The Deans commended staff and faculty for their achievements and perseverance, acknowledging the uncertainties of the past year, and also shared their vision for the forthcoming semester.

Featured speaker Robert Ubell, Vice Dean Emeritus of Online Learning at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, delivered a presentation on “Strategies for Stimulating Student Engagement.” Ubell reviewed theories of active learning and student-centered instruction, and participants later joined small-group discussions. The evening concluded with closing remarks from Assistant Dean, Dr. Negar Farakish.

 


DPB is the largest division at NYU School of Professional Studies, with over 2,000 students, 500 faculty, and over 9,000 alumni. The Division comprises four centers of excellence that educate leaders in the functional areas of an enterprise. Each department’s credit and continuing education offerings serve students at every level of their careers, providing them with the skills required to succeed in critical positions in their professional development.
