Two DAUS Students Selected for Wasserman FirstClass Career Program

We are excited to announce that two DAUS students have been accepted into the NYU Wasserman FirstClass Career Program. Joey Abel (BA, Social Sciences) and Vanessa Mejia (BS, Leadership & Management) are among a group of four undergraduate students at the NYU School of Professional Studies who were selected for this program. Joey describes what being accepted into this program means to him this way:

“As a senior studying Economics, I struggled with finding a true sense of direction when it came to my future. The NYU Wasserman FirstClass Career Program connects me with alumni who have shown me there are endless possibilities. This network and support system will make me feel more confident moving forward in my professional life post-grad.”

Joey Abel BA, DAUS '21

First Class is the Wasserman Center’s award-winning professional development and mentorship program for first generation undergraduate students at NYU. Between September and April of every academic year, students accepted to the program work closely with their assigned mentor and career coach to help them advance their careers. Students are paired with mentors based on their career path, industry affiliation, and personal identities.
