Meet the New Summer 2022 Faculty!

Summertime is coming, and so are two new members of the MS in Publishing faculty! Check out Stacey and Megan’s brief bios, while also learning a fun fact about our newest adjunct faculty. Do you love live music? Are you a feline fanatic? Spoiler alert: you’re not alone!

Stacey N. Barney (Children’s Book Publishing) is the Associate Publisher of Nancy Paulsen Books for Young Readers at Penguin Random House. She has edited recent New York Times bestsellers Beasts of Prey by Ayana Gray, House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland, The Beautiful by Renée Ahdieh and Bunheads by American Ballet Theater principal dancer Misty Copeland, as well as Caldecott Honor-winning The Cat Man of Aleppo. Before moving to children’s publishing, Stacey was an educator and curriculum development specialist serving in school districts in Massachusetts, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She holds a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from Temple University and a Master’s of Fine Arts from Emerson College. She is the recipient of the Bill Konigsberg Award for Acts and Activism for Equity and Inclusion through Young Adult Literature, presented by the Assembly on Literature for Adolescents of the National Council of Teachers of English.

Megan Gilbert (Branded Content in the Media Business) is Vice President of the award-winning FORTUNE Brand Studio, a division of Fortune Media. She drives the editorial direction, strategy, and production of all branded content, co-leading the creative studio team in digital, audio, video, social, and print storytelling for high-profile clients such as Salesforce, PayPal, Zurich Insurance, AWS, Boston Consulting Group, Target, and more. Her varied and lengthy career in branded content includes positions at Gawker Media, Fusion Media, The Washington Post, Slate, and VICE Media. Megan is a graduate of Boston University and earned her M.F.A. in Creative Nonfiction Writing from Sarah Lawrence College.

Once upon a time, Megan opened for Radiohead and Smashing Pumpkins, and toured with Blur.
