In response to the August 2021 emergency evacuation of tens of thousands of Afghans, the Center for Global Affairs is offering a one-time, single full tuition scholarship—the Afghan Crisis Scholarship (ACS)—for a two-year program of graduate study in the MS in Global Affairs or the MS in Global Security, Conflict, and Cyber, to begin in Fall 2022.
This scholarship is open to an Afghan evacuee whose graduate studies in disciplines related to international relations/global affairs have either been interrupted by the Taliban take-over, or would be impossible under the Taliban regime. Recently-evacuated Afghan applicants who have been or expect to be denied opportunities for advanced study because of their gender, marital status, ethnic identity, religious confession, or other characteristics, are encouraged to apply.
Applicants will be expected to have been admitted to one of the Center for Global Affairs master’s degree programs and thus must meet NYU academic achievement and English language standards.
