Zuleika Cuevas (She / Her)
As President & CEO of Cuevas Ventures LLC, Zuleika brings a unique background as an Afro Latina in the space of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion global thought leader, a certified leadership presenter & coach, and has been a DEI expert for multiple major Fortune 500 companies.
Currently as a Senior Diversity Business Partner at Klaviyo (marketing automation tech platform), Zuleika embeds Equity and Inclusion into the people operations infrastructure and leads the DEI guidebook for Global Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) practices. She creates mechanisms of accountability across all senior executive levels and functions and coaches executive leadership to better develop and retain underrepresented talent.
Zuleika also serves as an NYU Adjunct Instructor, Graduate Division of Programs in Business - Management and Technology and teaches Intercultural Business Communication and Organizational Ethics. She is an award winner for the Mercy College Teaching Excellence Award and nominated for the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching for distinct and positive impact on the achievement of student learning. She holds a Bachelors in Marketing, a Masters in Business Management, and a second Masters in Organizational Communication. Previously as Assistant - Vice Chancellor at New York Medical College, Zuleika partnered with 46 academic programs, 27 academic departments and 23,000 alumni to improve the recruitment, engagement and retention of staff, faculty and students.
When Zuleika is not creating or activating the next successful partnership venture, she enjoys listening, singing and dancing to the hottest salsa or merengue lyrics! She currently resides in Harlem, New York City with her family. She describes herself as a Big Idea Connector, Strategic Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Thought Leader and Passionate Educator. With more than twenty years of experience in diversity, equity & inclusion, leadership effectiveness and proven results, Zuleika continues to be a highly sought-after resource for many organizations.

My mission is to create an inclusive environment that is equitable, respectful and provides a sense belonging for our students, faculty and staff. As a passionate educator, coach and mentor to over 8000 under-represented students, I am driven to provide transformational experiences that allow them to unleash their greatest potential and IDBEA will provide that opportunity.
