Michael Zam, BFA/MFA, wrote the screenplay for Black-Listed: Best Actress, which was developed into the critically acclaimed miniseries Feud: Bette and Joan, starring Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon in Spring 2017. He was nominated for two Emmy Awards, among other accolades.
He has also written scripts for DreamWorks, HBO, Apple TV+, Warner Bros., and more. Michael wrote the book for the Off-Broadway musical The Kid, based on Dan Savage’s memoir, winning the Jerry Bock Award for Excellence in Musical Theatre and the Outer Critics Circle Award. He was also nominated for Drama Desk, Lucille Lortel, and GLAAD Media Awards.
Michael has been honored twice with the SPS Award for Teaching Excellence and teaches screenwriting, film, theater, and television writing at NYU SPS.
