Tariq Khan is a published author, globally sought-after keynote speaker, accomplished business leader, and respected academic. He brings together extensive corporate leadership experience and scholarly expertise to help organizations navigate change, drive growth, and build inclusive cultures. His areas of expertise include leadership, innovation, marketing strategy, future trends, cultural transformation, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Over a distinguished 20-year corporate career in the United States, Tariq held senior leadership positions at several Fortune 500 companies, including ING, Nationwide, and MetLife. In his final corporate role, he served as Senior Vice President and Head of Market Development at ING, where he led strategic initiatives focused on growth, innovation, and market expansion.
In academia, Tariq serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Leadership and Marketing at New York University’s School of Professional Studies (NYU SPS), where he has been a faculty member since 2006. He also leads the Executive Master’s in Marketing and Strategic Communications program, helping shape the next generation of business and marketing leaders.
In 2010, Tariq founded Global Diversity Marketing (GDM), a New York-based management consulting firm that advises Fortune 500 companies and senior executives on leadership, strategy, cultural transformation, and market growth. Under his leadership, GDM has partnered with numerous global organizations to help them adapt, innovate, and succeed in an increasingly diverse and rapidly changing business environment.
Tariq has also made significant contributions to the nonprofit sector through his service on the boards of several prominent organizations. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Asian Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIA Scholars), the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS), and Ascend, the largest Pan-Asian professional membership organization in North America. He also served as Global President of OPEN (Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs and Professionals) and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Stratford University in Falls Church, Virginia.
As an author, Tariq published Leadership in Changing Times in 2022. The book has been adopted by academic institutions and leadership programs worldwide and offers practical insights for leaders navigating uncertainty and transformation.
A highly regarded speaker, Tariq has delivered keynote addresses and presentations at major conferences, corporations, and universities around the world. He has shared the stage with global CEOs, influential thought leaders, and U.S. Presidents.
