Dr. Mark Warner is an Adjunct Clinical Professor at New York University’s Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality and Tourism (Tisch Center). Previously, he was also the Director of Graduate Programs at the Tisch Center from 1997-2007. From 2007-2016 he was a Clinical Professor until 2017 before assuming his present position. Prior to this, Dr. Warner was an Associate Professor and Graduate Coordinator at the University of New Haven (UNH). While there, he also held numerous other administrative positions such as Chair, Hotel and Restaurant Management and Interim/Acting Dean. Before UNH, Dr. Warner was a pilot in the United States Air Force and held teaching and administrative positions at Air University.
Dr. Warner has conducted and coordinated a wide range of research including: Hospitality 2010: A Five Year Wake Up Call, with Deloitte, The History of Hotel Electronic Distribution with Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association, several of the annual studies of the Hospitality 2000 series with Andersen, and numerous Annual Manhattan Hotel Market Overviews with Hospitality Valuation Services. He has taught many courses in the areas of: applied research, advanced topics, hotel operations analysis, leadership and organizational behavior, rooms division management, principles of the lodging industry, and accounting and financial management to name a few. Dr. Warner received a BA from Monmouth College (Illinois) in economics/business, a BS in hotel Administration from Cornell University, an MA in human resources from the State University of New York, and a Doctorate from the University of Alabama in public administration.
