Professor Menna received his B.A., M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in American history from Columbia University. His areas of expertise are American political history, American popular culture, ideology and political parties, history of social movements, and media and race. He has taught and has written on these subjects and currently is an adjunct professor at New York University and a professor of history at the State University of New York, Farmingdale. At NYU, he has received both the Excellence in Teaching and Excellence in Service Awards. When not writing or teaching, he spends his time as an avid global traveler, film buff, and cyclist.
