Michael DeLucia is currently a Partner at Montauk Capital, an infrastructure technology investment platform, where he supports the development of companies and investment strategies at the intersection of electrification and industrial systems. He works with founders and institutional partners on commercialization, deployment, and growth of innovative energy and digital infrastructure technologies, informed by more than 18 years of experience across project finance, private investment, and large-scale infrastructure development.
DeLucia’s career is grounded in project finance and real-asset execution, beginning as an early investor and financier in some of the first wind and solar independent power producers in North America during his time at HSH Nordbank, an early leader in renewables project finance, and later at Nereus Capital, an investment firm focused on sustainable energy infrastructure in Asia. At Macquarie Energy, he structured and financed major power projects across solar, biomass, natural gas, and other technologies, as well as transactions involving utilities and other load-serving entities. He subsequently joined Sidewalk Labs, the smart-cities platform launched by Alphabet, Google's parent company, before becoming a member of the founding team at Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners, where he focused on investing in and building intelligent and decarbonized infrastructure systems. Following his time at Sidewalk, he served at Wellington Management’s Climate Innovation Fund, leading energy-transition investments including in critical grid-enhancing technologies.
DeLucia began his career in investment banking at JPMorgan and is a graduate of Brown University. This combination of financial rigor, technical grounding, and real-world execution experience shapes his perspective on how emerging energy technologies scale into critical infrastructure and create long-duration economic value.
