Michael Figuccio

Dr. Michael Figuccio is a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Academic Director of Social Sciences at NYU SPS. Dr. Figuccio earned his PhD in Psychology from Boston University and a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Leadership and Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Dr. Figuccio's research interests include early language and reading development and the scholarship of teaching and learning. Dr. Figuccio has given presentations to national and international audiences and has over a dozen peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Figuccio has won several prestigious awards including Farmingdale State College’s Annual Award for Innovative Pedagogy, the State University of New York’s Online Effective Practice Award, the Society for Research in Child Development’s Developmental Science Teaching Institute’s Participants’ Choice Poster Award, the Society for the Teaching of Psychology’s Civic Engagement Award, and the State University of New York’s Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
