D. P. Snyder is a bilingual writer and literary translator from Spanish. Her translations from Spanish include works by the Mexican authors Mónica Lavín, Angelina Muñiz-Huberman, and Alberto Chimal, and the Spanish poet and musician Juan Carlos Garvayo, among others. She is a fellow at the Hermitage Artist Retreat in Englewood, Florida, and the Ezra Foundation in Bristol, New Hampshire. From 1991 to 2001, she was the co-director of the Latin American Workshop in New York City, where she coordinated the organization's Latin American and crossover cultural events programming. She designed the Medical Spanish curriculum that she taught at Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx for many years and created the first synchronous online Spanish course for The New School in New York City. She lives in Hillsborough, NC.
