Professor Spitzer is the Chief People Officer for Arabella Advisors, a for-profit B-Corp that provides business services to the philanthropic sector. She is also an adjunct instructor at Columbia University, Teachers College. Before Arabella, Barbara founded Two Rivers Partners, LLC, which prepares non-profit and midsized organizations for today's disruptive forces. Over her career, Barbara has held Managing Director/Partner/SVP positions at large firms including Accenture, Hedrick & Struggles, Willis Towers Watson, and EY. She aligns business and workforce strategies, focusing on leadership, culture, human capital, and change, resulting in purpose-driven, large-scale transformation.
Barbara's purpose extends beyond borders, encompassing youth leadership, disability inclusion, mental wellness, and the fight against food insecurity. An expert in Human Resilience, Barbara guides leaders in fostering their people's physical, mental, and relational well-being.
Barbara holds a BS in Psychology from James Madison University and an MA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. In her spare time, Barbara travels the world seeking new and exotic places to scuba dive and hone her underwater photography skills.
