David Winterstein is a professional freelance translator and subtitler with 25 years experience working from French, Italian, and Spanish into English (my native language). He is an ATA certified translator of French into English. Prior to becoming a freelance translator, he was a professor of mass communication with a teaching and research focus on international and intercultural communication. Additionally, David has worked in the communication and PR sector. His communication background together with long-term experiences working and living in a wide variety of cultural settings across North America, Europe, and North Africa has given him an essential sensitivity to cultural nuances that are critical for adapting translations to the intended purpose and audience.
