Lori Nitschke is an adjunct instructor at the Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies in the School of Professional Studies, annually teaching Social Media Marketing and Analytics.
Lori has had a long career in journalism, marketing, and communications in Washington, DC, and New York. She has served as the Chief Marketing Officer for Marsh's Global Risk & Digital division, for the Global Association of Risk Professionals, and for the Risk Management Association. She was the head of Internal Communications for the Client Services and Technology division of TIAA and is currently the chief of staff to TIAA's Chief Operating, Information, and Digital Officer. In her early career, she was a Washington-based journalist for Congressional Quarterly magazine and the Omaha World-Herald newspaper.
A native of North Dakota, Lori earned a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and political science from the University of North Dakota and a masters of science degree in journalism and an MBA from Columbia University, where she was a Knight-Bagehot fellow in economic journalism. She also was an American Political Science Association fellow in the U.S. Congress in 1994-95.
