Olivia Steiert
Olivia Steiert is a Ph.D. candidate in sociology at The New School for Social Research in New York City. She studies discourses of climate change from a perspective merging cultural sociology and science and technology studies. Her current research specifically focuses on the 1.5°C long-term warming target, analyzing the number as a cultural object that reframed the eventfulness and location of climate change across the spheres of media, activism, and law. Olivia has taught introductory classes as well as courses on gender and family and climate change and environment at Hunter College / CUNY, The New School and NYU SPS.
