Brian Hall

Brian Hall is the Founder and Head of Artificial Intelligence at AlphaPlay, a decision-support platform used across sports and defense. AlphaPlay combines machine learning, domain-informed modeling and simulation, and generative A.I. to deliver real-time, explainable insights in complex, dynamic, and classified environments. Brian has deployed these systems in U.S. military wargaming and simulations and works with top sports organizations to inform decisions at speed through data. He speaks internationally on applied A.I. and its real-world impact across industries, from professional sports to military wargaming and battlefield intelligence. His work has been featured in media including Bloomberg, The Washington Post, Forbes, and the BBC. In addition, Brian teaches analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence at New York University. Prior to joining NYU, his research at Harvard University focused on applying machine learning and computational methods to sports decision-making. He is also the founder of the Society for American Baseball Research Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Committee.
