Dr. Niki Brancato completed her doctorate in Conflict Analysis and Resolution in April 2014 at Nova Southeastern University, concentrating in systemic and organizational violence and patterns, especially dating back to sixteenth century Europe. Niki also holds a bachelor's of arts from the State University of New York at Fredonia in Political Science with minors in American Studies and multi-ethnic studies, and a master's of arts from Long Island University at Brooklyn in political science and urban studies. While studying for her doctorate degree, Niki traveled to Northern Ireland and Ireland to further learn and study the The Troubles, their reconciliation efforts and their post conflict programs. During her time in K-12 education, Niki completed the Bearing Witness program through the ADL, which includes a Holocaust education program and Jewish-Catholic history. Niki is currently an intervention specialist for students in additional need at a school in the south Bronx, implementing intervention for reading, problem- solving and conflict resolution techniques. She is also a volunteer advocate for Homicide Survivors Inc., where she assists with groups and other support/based events.
