Adjunct Instructor

Carol Clark holds an MS in Historic Preservation from Columbia and a BA from the University of Michigan. She is a member of the New York State Board for Historic Preservation. She served as a Deputy Commissioner of the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, and held leadership positions at the NY Landmarks Conservancy, Brooklyn Historical Society, and NYC's Departments of City Planning, Housing Preservation and Development, and Design and Construction. She is an Adjunct Professor of Historic Preservation at Columbia University. Clark is the recipient of an Excellence in Teaching award from NYU SPS, the Preservation Leadership Award of the Preservation Alumni of Columbia University, the 2026 George McAneny Award for Unsung Preservation Leadership, and the Landmarks Lion Award from the Historic Districts Council.
