Jian Liu is a seasoned Training Specialist at a federal government agency within the Department of Homeland Security, where he develops effective training programs for contracting professionals and learning professionals. A Kirkpatrick Certified Professional at the Gold level, a certified facilitator, and a Kirkpatrick BrightLight Professional, Jian brings expertise in training evaluation and facilitation. Previously, he served as an Associate in Bilingual Education at the New York State Education Department, leading projects supporting English and Multilingual Learners, and as an Assessment Manager for NYC Public Schools, where he managed various large-scale testing initiatives. An adjunct Assistant Professor at NYU's School of Professional Studies, Jian began his career as a high school bilingual math teacher in Brooklyn. He holds a B.A. in Pure Mathematics from CCNY, an M.A. in Teacher of Mathematics from NYU, an M.S. Ed. in Bilingual Childhood Education from CCNY, and an M.S. Ed. in Educational Leadership from The College of Saint Rose. Currently, he is a doctoral student in the Adult Learning and Leadership program at Teachers College, Columbia University, and is also part of the Columbia Coaching Certification Program Cohort 35.
