Lauren Panepinto has worked in every publishing genre and collaborated with artists of all disciplines for over twenty years, designing and art directing book covers. As the Creative Director of Orbit Books and the Chief Creative Liaison and a Vice President at Hachette Books, she has been focused on the Science Fiction and Fantasy genre as it grows into a greater and greater portion of mainstream culture. You can also find her writing and educational projects at Muddy Colors and Drawn + Drafted. She is also the co-founder of the gallery Every Day Original. Lauren graduated from The School of Visual Arts with a degree in Graphic Design and Advertising. She has worked in fashion (Perry Ellis), television (MTV), and for design firms, but found her true calling in book publishing. She has also worked at St. Martin's Press/Picador Books, and at Doubleday/Random House.
