David Fontana began his role as an adjunct at NYU-SPS in 2013 teaching in the integrated marketing graduate program. This allows him to work with the next generation of media and marketing thought leaders.
David is a media professional who believes that his discipline, media strategy, planning & activation, does not stand alone – that it needs to be executed with an understanding of the creative messages the media channels deliver - that great storytelling in media, supported by excellent creative lead to true connections.
Within his discipline, he believes that it is critical to make the process more accountable and consumer focused. This means making sure that selected messaging channels, whether they be outbound or inbound, must have the proper relevance to the end user. That the context recognizes lifestyles, habits and behaviors to connect the message to the consumer and produces a measurable outcome.
A graduate of Rutgers University, David has spent his career in Advertising, Media and Marketing. He has split time between large multinational holding companies, medium size independent agencies and even a start-up. His experience at agencies such as Havas, Publicis, Hakuhodo Worldwide, Y&R, Assembly Global/Stagwell, and Adler, Boschetto & Peebles/Draft FCB, has allowed him to be involved with media efforts across multiple channels and technologies. He has had the chance to work with a broad group of brands within pharmaceutical, healthcare, fashion, finance, technology, energy, tourism, consumer electronics, retail sectors.
