Aminata (Amikolé) Maraesa is an adjunct assistant professor of Anthropology at NYU School of Professional Studies and Fordham University. Her academic works include In a Good Position for Birth: Pregnancy, Risk, and Development in Southern Belize (2018, Vanderbilt), Risk, Reproduction, and Narratives of Experience (2012, Vanderbilt), and Woman to Woman: Addressing the Need for Doula-Assisted Childbirth (2003, DER). Amikolé is also a certified yoga instructor and clinical herbalist.
