Dr. Denise A. Williams is dedicated to empowering senior leaders and organizations to achieve peak performance. As the founder of a specialized consultancy, Dr. Williams designs and delivers customized leadership development and executive coaching programs grounded in evidence-based practices and innovative strategies.
The combination of a doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Columbia University, more than 25 years as an executive coach, more than 15 years as an Adjunct Professor shaping current and future business leaders, and a strong background as a psychotherapist enables Dr. Williams to apply a unique interdisciplinary approach that blends psychology and business acumen. Her expertise encompasses career development strategies, cultivating strategic partnerships, guiding senior leaders through complex challenges in rapidly changing environments. She empowers leaders to build resilience, emotional intelligence, strategic decision-making, and other critical leadership skills. At NYU, Dr. Williams currently teaches a course in Organizational Behavior. In the past, Williams has taught Business Organization and Management, Health Communication, and Career Management and Transitions.
Dr. Williams has worked extensively with several Fortune 100 companies spanning a range of industries, including healthcare, pharmaceutics, finances, insurance, consumer products, and entrepreneurship. She is known for her versatility and ability to guide senior-level professionals to navigate the nuances of their roles, within their specific organizational contexts, thus ultimately enhancing their leadership capabilities.
Extensive training and experiences have strengthened Dr. Williams’ capacity to provide clients with comprehensive guidance that is grounded in evidence-based resources, psychological insights, and practical strategies. Williams combines a variety of scientifically validated instruments such as 360 feedback, strengths assessments, and personality inventories. These assessments support clients’ goals and offer invaluable insights into their strengths, blind spots, and areas for development.
Dr. Williams holds professional positions, including her current role as a valued member of the Training Advisory Council for the American Psychological Association’s Minority Fellowship Program. Additionally, she serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Care Hope College Nursing School, further contributing to her expertise in the field of leadership development.
In 2020, Dr. Williams authored and published Wellspring of Words, which highlights the transformative impact of words on one’s mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. Additionally, it provides practical instructions for readers to make a positive shift toward a more empowering life.
