Bjorn R Hanson

Bjorn Hanson, Ph.D. is an Adjunct Professor in the Johnathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality. Dr. Hanson has been the faculty of record for undergraduate and graduate courses about the hospitality and lodging industry, including Introduction to Hospitality, and statistics, and undergraduate and graduate advance finance.
Dr. Hanson has served as Divisional Dean New York University’s Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management, and served as Co-Interim Dean of the School of Professional Studies.
His academic degrees are Bachelor of Science from Cornell University, MBA from Fordham University, and Ph.D. from New York University.
Bjorn is on the editorial board of the Cornell Hospitality Quarterly, is a founding Director of an NYSE hospitality REIT, is Executive Vice President of the company that owns one of New York's renowned luxury hotels, and is an active industry consultant.

Prior to joining NYU Bjorn was PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Global Partner for Hospitality and Leisure leading the firm’s audit, tax, and consulting practices, and served on the firm’s U.S. Leadership Committee and the Global Financial Advisory Services Management Committee.
