[IMPORTANT] NYU Multi-Factor Authentication will be mandatory soon
Beginning this fall, you will be required to use NYU Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) when accessing most services that require a NetID and password, including NYU Email, NYUHome, and NYU Classes. MFA is an additional layer of security that helps keep your information safe, preventing others from accessing your NYU accounts. Find your specific mandatory MFA date here.
Brand New to MFA? Start Using It Today
When you sign up for MFA, you will be asked to register one or more devices, such as your smartphone or tablet, which you will use to confirm your identity after entering your NetID and password. We strongly recommend enrolling multiple devices, and using the Duo Mobile app. Duo is free, easy to use, and works in areas without internet or cell service, as well as when traveling internationally.
Already Using MFA?
If you are already using MFA, confirm that you’ve activated MFA for most NYU services—not just PeopleSync, but also NYU Email, NYU Classes, and others. Don’t forget to enroll multiple devices, if possible, and choose a default option (preferably with the Duo Mobile app).
Where Can I Get Help?
Learn more about the benefits of MFA and explore how-to videos, FAQs, and helpful tips on the NYU MFA website. Don’t have access to an MFA-eligible mobile device or have a question? Contact the NYU IT Service Desk (open 24x7) for support.
