With experts in the field as faculty members like Federico Salvitti offering insider perspectives, students leave the program ready to impact the future of marketing.

We spoke with Salvitti about his diverse background, his expertise in all things Metaverse, and his advice for future professionals in the marketing field.

A Global Perspective

Salvitti was born in Italy and has lived in England, Japan, and New York City. His career began in tech equity research and sales, eventually blossoming into a multidimensional marketing career that spans SaaS and professional and financial services. After launching more than 20 software and tech products, he is now an operating partner at SevenTrain Ventures, where he acts as a venture capital-facing chief revenue and chief marketing officer in web3, artificial intelligence, and machine learning companies in the pre-IPO stage. He teaches the Marketing Capstone and Integrated Marketing and Database Management and Modeling courses, where he brings his valuable global perspective to the classroom.

With a passion for football, he has also worked with friends to fund a charity that supports Street Soccer USA, teaching over 4,000 young children the values of respect and teamwork through playing ball.

From Classroom to Investor Pitches

Salvitti's extensive background in marketing connects directly with what he teaches in his courses. Specifically, his VC and CMO work influences how he prepares capstone students for investor pitches. Part of his process also involves shifting students' minds from opinions to hypotheses by using AI and data to help them decipher personas and trends.

Our courses prepare students in the fields of marketing management and orchestration. With the increasing complexity in Martech and Adtech, and the advent of web3 and metaverse, orchestration is king."
Immersive Experiences in the Metaverse

For Salvitti, staying ahead of new technology is key in the marketing world, and understanding the Metaverse has been a recent focus of his. Initially drawn to the explorative element of the Metaverse, he notes that its new people engagement architecture and its overarching dynamics and boundaries are yet to be identified, which is very exciting for tech-inspired marketers.

When it comes to education and marketing, Savitti insists that the Metaverse is the future. He shares,

"The short version is simplified in these steps: use AI to identify the roles of the future based on the lifestyle students want to have, create immersive simulation content, and incorporate alumni and corporations into the mentoring element of the overall experience."

Another prediction? Critical thinking will become more crucial than ever. According to Salvitti, our human ability to select information and clearly demonstrate enthusiasm and critical thinking in marketing cannot be replicated by AI. He encourages students to consistently develop these skills in order to make their mark in the field.

Salvitti identifies a key challenge emerging within new marketing technology at the moment: understanding the differences between the Metaverse and Web3. "Marketers must simplify what can be done now (web3) and how the metaverse is the experience through which people will interact with new forms of content (future)," he explains.

Advice for New Marketers

As a thought leader in tech and marketing, Salvitti offers his wisdom for prospective students in the MS in Integrated Marketing program. "If students are not curious and invest time getting good at one or two aspects of tech, they are sleeping at the wheel," he says. Salvitti encourages students to focus on the importance of team building and human interactions, which sets them apart in an increasingly digital world.
