Community & Human Rights Advocacy

Now an advocate for human rights, CGA alum Brandon Suero’s career is informed by the opportunities, classroom discussions, and supportive community he found as an MS in Global Affairs at NYU SPS.

The experience that Suero gained during his time at CGA was valuable for his career today. Currently, he engages in a range of foreign policy initiatives while coordinating work of civil society partners with Washington advocacy. He also leads special projects including legislative tracking and research, and assists in the management of coalitions that facilitate foreign policy advocacy.

The CGA alumni community and professors provided great help on my job search. I did not feel completely alone in the process. Even now, I've maintained friendships with past alumni I only met through LinkedIn.”

The classroom discussions Suero engaged in while a CGA student allowed him to consider various viewpoints and connect on a deeper level with the topics as well as with his classmates and professors. He shares, “From impactful classroom discussion with professors and peers, to collaborative projects and research opportunities, I learned the value of keeping an open yet focused mindset.”
