From Cinephile to Marketing Innovator

Growing up as a devoted movie watcher, Chaturvedi was always captivated by the power of stories. "I am a cinephile through and through. You won't find me using a second device while watching a movie or a show," she shares. Her move from India to New York was driven by a desire to be at the heart of cultural and creative innovation—qualities she found at NYU SPS.

Her decision to enroll in the Integrated Marketing program was influenced by her background in brand management and her fascination with the emotional impact that advertising can have. The program’s practical learning objectives and theoretical foundation allowed her to dive deeper into the intricacies of marketing, bridging her interests in film, marketing, and journalism. "The ultimate deciding factor was the immense opportunities NYU has to offer and the city being the hub for Marketing and Entertainment," she recalls.

Chaturvedi stands out as a passionate enthusiast, directing and producing the podcast Let’s Dish to highlight student stories at NYU SPS. Chaturvedi's NYU Highlight Reel

At NYU SPS, Chaturvedi fully immersed herself in the community, participating in student council and enjoying the many extracurriculars that NYU offers. Her academic pursuits were complemented by practical, real-world experiences provided through the program. "The SPS experience has been great holistically," she notes, appreciating the opportunity to learn directly from industry leaders brought into the classroom. For Chaturvedi, the professors at NYU SPS were another highlight of her time here. She says,

SPS has the best of the best professors. I learned the most from Jeff Loechner, Richard Gant, Joanne Tombrakos, Marc Somnolet, David Vinjamuri, and Joshua Mowritz. I once spoke with Michael Diamond, and had a great conversation with him. I miss him dearly…Joe Peyronnin and Adrian Mihai had a perfect balance of a classroom and the real world newsroom. It was on the job training, but in an academic setting, a very collaborative and positive environment where everyone worked with each other."

Chaturvedi's favorite courses included not only those within NYU SPS but also an outside class in Broadcast Journalism which she describes as a perfect balance between classroom learning and real-world newsroom dynamics. This experience enriched her understanding and skills, preparing her well for her professional life after graduation.
