Examine fundamental social systems and global institutions this late spring through an immersive undergraduate study experience across Florence and Rome. Using two of Italy's most historic and dynamic urban centers as living laboratories, you will conduct comparative field research to evaluate how globalization, migration, and public policy shape contemporary European society. Through structured site visits and guided field observations, you will analyze Italian cultural and institutional frameworks alongside American structures. You will earn foundational sociology credit while cultivating the high-level research and cross-cultural analytical skills required for future careers in public policy, international affairs, research, and social services.
