Taking place during Spring Break in March 2027, this global field intensive led by Schack Institute Associate Dean Marc Norman brings graduate and upper-level undergraduate students directly to Madrid—Spain’s primary economic capital and one of Europe’s most dynamic real estate markets. Participants will conduct field-based case studies across the city, exploring how historic preservation and adaptive reuse intersect with modern capital investment and new construction. Through direct engagement with regional developers and urban planners, students will evaluate the financial, regulatory, and design strategies driving European metropolitan growth. Designed for ambitious students targeting careers in real estate development, investment, and policy, this program translates complex market theory into high-value global expertise and actionable industry connections.
