This course will examine the history and need for entertainment and events. Spend a summer week studying the event-planning process and the fascinating role events managers play in helping clients and organizations achieve their goals on time and on budget. Learn what it takes to succeed in this exciting industry. Deepen your understanding of key topics such as marketing and sponsorships, design and decor, menu planning, career opportunities, and industry associations. By the end of the week, you’ll take what you’ve learned and work together with your classmates to transform an idea into a full-fledged proposal for a potential client’s special event.

Each class will offer a new perspective for you to learn and develop your knowledge of these ever-engaging fields of study. Please note – This course will be taught in an experiential learning style.
