Bahriye Goren is a Clinical Associate Professor of Marketing and the interim Academic Director of the Integrated Marketing Communications department at NYU's School of Professional Studies within its Division of Programs in Business. She is also the lead faculty for the Executive Master's in Marketing and Strategic Communications program. Prior to joining NYU, Bahriye was a Faculty Director and full-time Teaching Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Leeds School of Business. Before Leeds, Bahriye was teaching at CUNY's Baruch College in their Executive MBA and MS programs in New York, Singapore and Taiwan.
 
Prior to joining academia, Bahriye was a marketing executive with over 15 years of international experience across three continents. At Unilever, she was responsible for Ben & Jerry’s Europe, where she was tasked with rolling out the popular ice cream brand across Europe. At Wallace Church, an award-winning design agency in New York, Bahriye was the Executive Director for Innovation and Strategy. Prior to that she was a senior consultant at Kantar in Amsterdam and New York, focused on global brands. Former clients include American Express, Unilever, Weleda, Sony Corp. and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters.


Bahriye is an Economist by schooling and holds a Master’s degree from the Erasmus University Rotterdam in The Netherlands. She speaks five languages and is the author of ‘Be’, a book on authentic leadership which was published in 2016. In 2020, she was a finalist for the prestigious Joseph L. Frascona Teaching Excellence Award and nominated for the Leeds MBA electives award in 2021.
