Andrea L. Chambers is Academic Director of the Master of Science in Publishing: Digital & Print Media Program at The NYU School of Professional Studies and Executive Director of the Center for Publishing, which includes the Summer Publishing Institute and executive education programs. She oversees all academic functions of the Center for Publishing, including faculty hiring and supervision, program and curriculum development, industry relations and visits, global programs, the internship program, alumni relations and supervision of the Board of Advisors. Her wide-ranging publishing career includes senior executive positions at magazines such as Time, People, and Seventeen and as a consultant to the National Geographic Society’s children’s magazines.

In book publishing, she worked as Vice President and Executive Editor at Penguin Group (USA), specializing in best-selling non-fiction political books and biographies. She is a published author and award winning magazine writer. Andrea is a judge of the National Magazine Awards and a past president of the Women’s Media Group. She received her M.S. in Journalism from Boston University.
