Our immersive publishing programs prepare students for positions in books and magazine publishing, and digital media. With two professional pathways, students may choose between a six-week intensive or a 42-credit graduate program that offers flexible scheduling.
With a background in both book publishing and magazine media, I greatly value the importance of content across platform and formats, and encourage our students to be nimble and versatile, thinking broadly and strategically. It’s so important to understand not only publishing fundamentals, but the latest digital content creation, marketing, and distribution strategies employed by multi-faceted media companies. Our students learn the many layers of book, magazine/digital media from a faculty of industry leaders. Class assignments are comprised of real-world tasks similar to what students will encounter on the job. The program also offers field visits that provide students with inside looks at publishing and a wealth of networking opportunities. Internships, too, provide increased exposure to the industry.
