Faculty Engagement

Faculty and administrators have an opportunity to shape how students enter the world of work, advance their careers, and embody the SPS mission of creating future leaders in a global economy.

Career Wellness in the Classroom
It is crucial for students to not only manage their careers, but also to stay well throughout their careers at SPS and beyond. At SPS, career management is viewed as a holistic and cyclical process of career wellness: self-assessment, market assessment, exploration and decision-making, taking action, managing, and relationship-building. As a faculty member, you play an important role in shaping academic experiences that help your students move through these various stages. The NYUSPS Wasserman Center invites you to partner with us, and to explore opportunities where you might bring a career wellness-focused approach into the classroom, preparing your students for the changing “world of work” no matter at what point they are in their careers.
Hiring Students and Sharing Opportunities

Position SPS students to be on the receiving end of job and internship opportunities. To expand the engagement level of your industry contacts beyond job postings, connect them to the NYUSPS Wasserman Center.
Faculty Resources

Students have shared that they often consult faculty and administrators for career-related advice. To support these conversations, we encourage you to review these resources.
Wasserman in the Classroom

To emphasize self-assessment, we offer a virtual workshop for students to complete a Strengths Profile as part of class curriculum. This assessment helps students understand how to use their strengths to own their career and improve resilience.
Faculty Module

This 15-minute module supports faculty to establish a holistic perspective of student career wellness; integrate the student career wellness cycle in the class experience; and identify ways to partner with the NYUSPS Wasserman Center
