Many students transfer to DAUS from other higher education institutions; others come here after leaving college without completing a degree. Others with no college credit yet start with DAUS in the spring semester of a college term. We offer full- and part-time schedules; online, onsite and hybrid course-taking options. And we provide a full range of professional advising, career guidance and other support to help you succeed on your academic journey.

NYU SPS Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies accepts up to 80 transfer credits from students transferring into our Bachelors degrees. We have designed our curriculum to allow you flexibility to take the remaining courses to finish your degree with the skills you most want and need.

The information systems degree program typically takes four years to complete as a full-time student. NYU SPS offers generous credit for prior learning and transfer credit so your time in our program may be shorter.

You may choose to use a set of your elective courses to follow a recommended series of courses to develop deeper expertise in a particular area of study. 
 

Specializations include 1. Data Analyst, 2. Network and Cybersecurity, 3. Strategic Media and Communication, 4. UX Design and Research, 5. Health Informatics.  Each set of courses is aligned to the skills employers look for in that speciality.  
 

You do not have to complete a specialization.  You may prefer to tailor your learning to your own needs and take some electives from different specializations based on your interests, career goals, prior course experience and discussions with your adviser.

Admissions Information

Applicants to our Associate and Bachelor's degrees must have completed some college credit in order to apply to the summer or fall semesters. Applicants who have not completed any college coursework may apply to the spring semester.

Our admissions process does not require any admissions tests. Submit your High School diploma or GED, a resume and transcripts and focus on your passion and potential as we prioritize a holistic review of your application. 

Guaranteed admission into our information systems program is offered to applicants with one of the following criteria: a 3.0 GPA in their most recent degree, a completed associate degree, and status as a United States active service member or veteran with 60 baccalaureate credits completed.
