This interactive 8-week online seminar invites participants to experience the Iliad not as a distant relic, but as a living text that continues to illuminate the most fundamental aspects of the human condition and offers profound insights into contemporary issues of war, power, moral injury, and reconciliation. Each session will create space for collaborative discovery as we unpack the psychological complexity of characters like the rage-driven Achilles, the proud Agamemnon, and the doomed Hector. Using Robert Fagles' vivid translation as our primary text—while consulting Emily Wilson's fresh interpretive lens—we will journey together through this epic tale of rage, honor, loss, and ultimately, reconciliation.
