15th Annual Cal Ramsey Distinguished Lecturer Series in Sports Management: "Beyond the Dugout"—A Conversation with Major League Baseball (MLB) Commissioner Rob Manfred

Robert Manfred became the 10th commissioner of Major League Baseball on January 25, 2015, after serving as the League's executive vice president for labor relations and human resources for 13 years. During his short tenure, he already has made his mark on the sport, increasing the visibility and the inclusiveness of baseball on a national and international level, approving rules designed to accelerate the pace of play on the field, and making a concerted effort to improve player safety. In 2015, through MLB's Play Ball youth-driven initiative, a project that involved the League collaborating with the US Conference of Mayors, baseball participation increased across 125 cities in 35 states.
