<p><span class="p-body"><i>Veteran Sports Business Expert and Educator Kelly Steps into His New Role Starting This Month</i></span></p> <p><span class="p-body"><b>New York, February 24, 2025 —&nbsp;</b>The&nbsp;<b><a href="/content/sps-nyu/homepage.html" target="_blank">NYU School of Professional Studies</a></b>&nbsp;today announced the appointment of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/danielgkelly2/"><b>Daniel G. Kelly II</b></a>, a seasoned sports business expert and education leader, as the new Associate Dean of the School’s&nbsp;<a href="/content/sps-nyu/about/academic-divisions-and-departments/preston-robert-tisch-institute-for-global-sport.html" target="_blank"><b>Preston Robert Tisch Institute for Global Sport</b></a>, effective February 2025.</span></p> <p><span class="p-body">Kelly brings a wealth of experience to the role. Since 2019, he has served as the NYU SPS Tisch Institute’s Academic Director of Graduate Programs and Clinical Professor. Before NYU SPS, he was the Faculty Director and&nbsp;Associate&nbsp;Professor of the Practice for the Sports Industry Management Program at Georgetown University.</span></p> <p><span class="p-body">Kelly was also an Associate&nbsp;Professor and the Director of Sport Management at Wilmington College and has taught at DeSales University.&nbsp;He holds a Ph.D. in Sport Management from The Ohio State University, an M.S. in Sport Studies, and a B.S. in Business Management from the Richard T. Farmer School of Business at Miami University (Ohio).</span></p> <p><span class="p-body">“Since joining NYU SPS, Daniel Kelly has embraced our School’s mission to deliver real-world applied learning experiences to our students to help them prepare for long, sustainable careers,” said&nbsp;<b>Angie Kamath, the Harvey J. Stedman Dean of NYU SPS.&nbsp;</b>“In his new role as Associate Dean, he’ll have the opportunity to build upon his impressive global sport experience and extensive network to help our students learn the skills to be well-rounded global sport professionals.”</span></p> <p><span class="p-body">In addition to his academic pursuits,&nbsp;Kelly has consulted on strategic leadership and global business initiatives with FC Barcelona’s Barca Innovation Hub, River Plate University Institute, and Superliga.
