Global MS Students Partner with NYC Cyber Command
NYU SPS’ Partnership with NYC Cyber Command Provides MS in Global Security Conflict, and Cybercrime Students Hands-on Procedural and Policy Insights

Practicum Partner: New York City Cyber Command
<p>NYC Cyber Command is a centralized organization created by the NYC Executive Order to lead the City's cyber defense efforts, working across more than 100 agencies and offices to prevent, detect, respond, and recover from cyber threats. The organization is committed to protecting NYC infrastructure and critical systems from malicious attacks through the latest technologies, public-private partnerships, and regular training and exercises for City employees.</p>
<p>Through a unique partnership between NYU SPS and NYC Cyber Command, MS in Global Security, Conflict, and Cybercrime students work with NYC Cyber Command to provide research and consultation, resulting in executive-level recommendations for policies and procedures and action plans for how NYC3 can best provide cybersecurity services to the City of New York.</p>
<p>This hands-on experience helps students build their professional networks and gives them real-life ways to enhance their resumes.</p>
About NYU SPS Practicums
<p><span class="p-body">Cybercrime and cybersecurity are top priorities for organizations worldwide, and the need for more individuals skilled in cyber policy and leadership is growing. <a href="/content/sps-nyu/about/academic-divisions-and-departments/center-for-global-affairs.html" target="_blank">NYU SPS’ Center for Global Affairs (CGA)</a> has developed relationships with several institutions to offer students an opportunity to showcase their analytic skills and solve problems of immediate importance in cyber policy and strategy development. </span></p>
<p><span class="p-body">Cyber practicums are a key element in our commitment to bridging classroom learning with practical applications and serve as an alternative final requirement to the master’s thesis in <a href="/content/sps-nyu/explore/degrees-and-programs/ms-in-global-security-conflict-and-cybercrime.html" target="_blank">MS in Global Security, Conflict, and Cybercrime (STEM)</a> program.</span></p>
