CGA and University of Leeds Host a Workshop on Developing Guidelines to Advance Global Efforts to Prevent Violent Extremism

<p><span class="p-body">The <a href="https://www.sps.nyu.edu/homepage/academics/divisions-and-departments/center-for-global-affairs/iset.html" target="_blank">Initiative for the Study of Emerging Threats</a> within the NYU SPS Center for Global Affairs and the University of Leeds co-hosted a workshop discussing and building standards for preventing and countering violent extremism (PCVE). Gathering experts and practitioners in New York, this workshop aimed to develop strategies for reducing obstacles for initiatives committed to tackling violent extremism. Faculty leads for the workshop were <b>Mary Beth Altier</b> from NYU and <b>Gordon Clubb</b> from Leeds.</span></p>
<p><span class="p-body">The project, "<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaYV73ApKTE&list=PLubMUT2d4P-ffpO6-xQCGMyXGXVXx9MLQ&index=4" target="_blank">Involving Formers: Developing Standards and Guidelines in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism</a>" aims to identify and implement standards for employing 'formers' in PCVE.</span></p>
