Imagine a future where the physical and virtual worlds converge. Thanks to the metaverse, that convergence is taking place today by enabling individuals, businesses, brands, and even cities to interact and connect people, places, and ideas in new and different ways.

On April 27-28, 2023, in New York City, the NYU SPS Metaverse Collaborative will be hosting the first Metaverse and Cities Summit in conjunction with Sharing Cities Alliance and Cornell's Jacob's Urban Tech Hub.

The summit will include:

• A Global Perspective of what is Happening in Cities and what we are learning
• The impact the Metaverse is having and will have on:

o Serving Citizens

o Economically and building the Creator economy

o Branding the City

o Building Communities and capabilities

• The Metaverse and Well-Being (How the Metaverse is being used to address Mental Health Issues)
• Building a city-based path
• Field trips to visit an art gallery, see augmented real estate, and watch your meal being prepared by an Avatar.
