NYU SPS Center for Publishing and Applied Liberal Arts’ Five-Day Immersive Executive Education Program Returns to NYU’s Greenwich Village Campus

New York, May 14, 2024 – The NYU School of Professional  Studies (NYU SPS) Center for Publishing and Applied Liberal Arts (PALA) today announced that registration for its second annual NYU Advanced Publishing Institute (NYU API) is now open. Designed for current mid- to senior-level book publishing professionals, NYU API will take place in person on New York University’s Greenwich Village campus from January 6 through January 10, 2025.

Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, NYU API returns with new all-day executive education sessions featuring interactive presentations, case studies, and workshops led by top-tier publishing, media, and technology professionals. The program will emphasize management and leadership strategies unique to the creative community of book publishing, address new global market opportunities, and how to leverage data and emerging technology. There will also be plenty of opportunities for attendee networking.

"The inaugural launch of the NYU Advanced Publishing Institute was a resounding success. We received overwhelmingly positive feedback from our attendees," said Andrea Chambers, associate dean of NYU PALA. We are now building on that success to provide an even more comprehensive, enriching learning experience for the 2025 program, which will feature a wide array of leading industry experts and professionals."

Initial 2025 NYU API topics include:

  • An analysis of the current publishing landscape
  • How to tailor your audio strategy to a specific audience and region
  • What we know now about best practices for AI and book publishing
  • Understanding new sources of revenue and profit margins
  • Maximizing profit from international book fairs and translation rights
  • Embracing change management for a creative industry
  • Practical consumer-focused approaches in marketing and sales for publishers large and small
