New NYU MS in Financial Planning Receives CFP® Board Registration

Designation is the Gold Standard for the Industry, Positioning Those Who Earn the Degree from the NYU School of Professional Studies for New Opportunities in This Growing Field

New York, NY —  The recently launched MS in Financial Planning, offered by the NYU School of Professional Studies Division of Programs in Business has received CFP^® Board Registration. This designation will allow students to gain CFP^® certification upon successful completion of the degree program and passing of the CFP^® exam.

Specific requirements need to be met in order for an educational program to receive CFP^® Board Registration and, in turn, to provide the standard of education that equips graduates of the degree to deliver professional, competent, and ethical financial planning services to clients.

The 30-credit MS in Financial Planning program, which can be completed in as little as one year of full-time study, prepares students for financial planning jobs in wealth management practices such as registered independent advisory firms and settings like banks, investment firms, and insurance companies. It offers two concentrations in Behavioral Finance and in Financial Analytics, which meet the needs of clients who are more tech-savvy than ever and who are interested in ensuring their personal financial choices are both good for them and for society.

The first cohort of students will begin their studies this fall and will be well-prepared to take the CFP^® exam and benefit from an NYU degree that readies those who seek to break into the financial industry, as well as those financial professionals who aspire to expand their knowledge in order to become full-comprehensive planners.
